SKYOPS' Emergency Response Plan

Actions taken within the initial minutes of an emergency can largely dictate the severity of consequences. In this case, “severity of consequences” can involve terrible financial, environmental, material, and/or human losses. Your company needs a plan of action to follow when emergencies strike in order to minimize damages.

When things do not go as expected it is imperative to have an informed and prepared crisis management team. This group of individuals must be able to keep employees and stakeholders abreast of the unfolding situation, while maintaining control of the operation.

Unfortunately, not every department has the luxury of a flight operations officer in their organization to assist. Having an automated solution available, accessible from any device with only a network connection available to access. From SKYOPS the ERP can be activated by the press of 1 button from any screen within the application. When activated the ERP dashboard is activated and it becomes visible to all logged in users that the ERP is activated by adding a red bar around the application. The dynamic ERP dashboard will help gain control over the situation and assist in many processes.

SKYOPS' event logger automatically tracks and logs events chronologically, starting with the activation of the ERP. Manual Decisions or Events can be added quickly to the event logger when necessary. It’s important to start logging your incident from the very beginning in order to re-construct a detailed sequence of events in the post-evaluation.

The ERP Dashboard contains tools to assist in handling the situation. One of the tools is a customizable phonebook where you can store and access important phone numbers including external parties that need to be informed in case of emergency. SKYBOARD and SKYMAP with all active flights and a geographical overview of your fleet can be displayed at your convenience.

After a crisis situation, SKYOPS workflow makes everything organized and easy for updating and incident reporting. From the ERP Dashboard, close the ERP and return to its original IDLE status. After closing the active ERP, you can add suggested operational improvements or comments. The ERP button will return to its function of activating a new ERP and the red bar is removed from logged in users. Each user receives an SMS text message with the information that the ERP is closed.

With each ERP activation, SKYOPS will generate a report containing all relevant information including the initial incident report, the sequence of events based on the personnel logging, CMT response times and much more. This report can be of great value when you want to further evaluate the incident.
